Post Matric Scholarship to Minority Students Pursuing XI std. to Ph.D. Level
The Government of Tamil Nadu and Government of India have been implementing various Welfare Schemes for the up liftment of Minorities. The Government of India, Ministry of Minority Affairs have announced a Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship to Students belonging to notified Minority Community pursuing higher education, from class XI to PhD and Technical and Vocational Courses of I.T.I / I.T.C. (affiliated with NCVT) in Government School / College / Institute or School/ College / Institute recognized by appropriate authority. Under this scheme, the scholarship allotted to Tamil Nadu for the year 2007- 08 is as follows: |

Eligibility
The Student should have obtained not less than 50% marks in the previous final exam.
The scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship / stipend from the Backward Classes Department.
30% reserved for Women Candidates. If, sufficient Women Candidates are not available, Male candidates can be selected.
Scholarship will not be given to more than 2 students in a family.
Students from B.P.L. families, having the lowest income shall be given preference in the ascending order.
The students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick will be decided by the competent authority of the School / College / University.
Annual Income Ceiling Rs.2 Lakhs, (from all sources)
Income Certificate (i) Self Certification by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.20/- for Self employed parents, (ii) For employed parents, they should submit Income Certificate from the employer and in addition should furnish Self Certification by way of Non-Judicial stamp paper, Income Means: Income of the family from all sources. If Income certificate is found to be false, it will attract penal action before the law.
The amount of scholarship:
Actual financial assistance will be provided for course fee / tuition fee and maintenance allowance as given below subject to a maximum ceiling indicated against item concerned. |
